Silvana has holds a Certificate VI in Holistic Counselling and Mind Body Therapies, and is a Certified Pastoral Carer. She studied part of her holistic counselling course through the Endeavour College of Natural Health, where she also completed her clinical practice. Her pastoral care training was conducted at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, the largest trauma hospital in Brisbane as well as at a BlueCare aged care facility.
Holistic Counselling takes an integrated therapeutic approach. From talking therapy, to meditation, mindfulness, journalling and other techniques that help promote personal growth, self-awareness and intuition. Mind-Body Therapies includes somatic techniques like breathing exercises, grounding exercises, nature therapy and body awareness. It also explores lifestyle factors and the use of hobbies, and interests that help bring calm, purpose and joy into a person’s life.
Pastoral Care is similar to counselling as it offers a safe space to share any challenges and trauma being faced, offers deep listening, and support, but may also include non-religious spiritual care and the exploration of the person beyond the mind.
